In 2007 my husband Christoph, my boyfriend at that time, set out to the overland trip to Africa, and I joined him from Senegal to Cameroon, and then later from Namibia to all the way back to Germany. These images are part of my photography collection from this trip.
Rather than documenting the places, I have captured my encounters with Africa and its scenes in the form of photographs. These images are published in the book “Africa Overland” (National Geographic 2013).
